The National Defense Academy serves as an institution for each of its three parts. These are the Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Indian Military Academy. For three years, there is joint training. Following that, applicants are sent to the academy of their choosing for pre-commissioning training. 10+2 Entry is a technical entry to join Indian Navy. Boys who have passed their Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCM) with 70% aggregate can apply. Applications will be selected on the basis of your aggregate 10+2 score. Then the eligible candidates will get SSB Interview calls.

After selection, candidates will get training of four years where they will be awarded the degree of Engineering. Taking this opportunity will help you join the Indian Navy in your prime years.

  • Exam Pattern : Candidates are shortlisted as per their 10+2 aggregate percentage. Then, SSB is conducted in the next round.

UPSC conducts the Combined Defence Service Examination (CDSE) twice a year. CDSE holds the procedure to recruit officers for the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Both men and women are eligible for the Indian Army while only men are suitable for the Navy and Air Force.

The candidates who are looking to join Indian Navy have to give a written exam followed by the SSB. Then, the selections are based on the basis of written examination and the availability of seats.

UES stands for University Entry Scheme and is a Short Service Commission. This entry is for students who are in their Pre-Final or Final year Engineering courses and are willing to join Indian Navy. Candidates can apply for many branches such as General Services, Executive, etc. For branches like Naval Architecture, both men and women are eligible.

  • Selection Procedure : Preliminary Interview Round in college followed by SSB
  • Age Limit : 21 to 24 Years (At the time of commencement of course)
  • Gender : Male/Female
  • Educational Qualification : Engineering final/pre-final year with 60% aggregate in all semesters, with physics and mathematics at 10+2
  • Exam Pattern : Campus Recruitment Round where the candidates are shortlisted for SSB
  • Commission Type : Permanent and Short Service Commission

Based on the cut-off notified by the Indian Navy, candidates are called for the SSB round. Both genders can apply however they should be pursuing their engineering and fit the age limit as directed. Candidates can apply for various positions including Naval Armament, Logistics, Pilot Observer, Education, Inspection Cadre, and more.

Join Indian Navy Entrance Test is based on the officers’ entry under IHQ MoD (Navy)/DPMR. It caters to both the Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission. INET is conducted twice a year; therefore, you get a good opportunity to join Indian Navy.

  • Age Limit : 21 to 24 years

  • Exam Pattern : Four sections:
    • English
    • Reasoning & Numerical Ability
    • General Knowledge
    • General Science & Mathematical Aptitude
    • Candidates have to score 40% in every section. The shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB round.
  • Commission Type : Permanent and Short Service Commission

The officials assess the candidates for various officers likewise qualities at the Service Selection Boards. These qualities cover planning & organising ability, social effectiveness, social adaptability, dynamic ability, and more. The SSB is conducted in two stages as under:-

  • Stage-I: Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion Round.
  • Stage-II: Psychological Test, Group Test and Interview.

Successful candidates are thereafter required to undergo a medical examination. Once they are declared fit, they can join the Indian Navy as an Officer.

To join Indian Navy as an Artificer Apprentice (AA), candidates need to have a minimum qualification of Class 10+2. The written exam is conducted twice a year.

Candidates have to clear minimum eligibility of passing 10+2 level and should be in the age of 17-20 years. Senior Secondary Recruitment (SSR) for the Indian Navy is conducted twice a year. After clearing the SSB, candidates have to go through a training of one year in order to join Indian Navy as Sailor.

    • Shortlisted candidates will be called for Physical Test. The final candidates will then go through Medical Test. After coming up on the Merit List, candidates have to undergo training for 1 year.

 

Matric Recruit (MR) and Non-Matric Recruit (NMR) are conducted for different trades. These trades are Cooks & Stewards, Sanitary Hygienist, etc. Given below is the details of entry through MR and NMR.
